Ever heard the phrase “Next year, you’ll wish you had started today”? Well I have and it got me thinking…
It’s so easy to delay working on our goals particularly if you feel unmotivated or when day-to-day life gets in the way. As humans we’re so good at putting off tomorrow what we can do today. Choosing to curl up on the couch in front of the TV instead of getting out there and living life.
The Happiness Project author Gretchen Ruben puts it like this, “The days are long, but the years are short.” It’s a reminder that the years do indeed fly by, and that we should squeeze as much out of them as we can. Don’t live a life without purpose or meaning, and let the years all merge together. This statement is so true. As Eckhart Tolle tells us in his book – The power of Now, there is only NOW! And lots of Nows make up goals achieved and a life well lived.
- Don’t put off that project “until the right time”.
- Don’t put off talking to that person you’ve had your eye on.
- Don’t procrastinate over asking that all important question; CARPE DIEM PEOPLE!
Because if you don’t it’ll be next year before you know it and you’ll be in the same spot with it having been unsaid or not achieved. Trust me, the time is ALWAYS right!
Until next time…
