Autumn Equinox – a time for reflection…

The autumn equinox arrives at 8:50am BST today, Monday 23 September 2019. This is point that officially marks the beginning of autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. Equinox comes from the Latin meaning “equal night”, when both day and night are of equal length. This happens in spring and autumn.
As the sun heads south for the winter, it casts a darker shadow in its wake. The sinking sun makes the days shorter and the nights chilly and longer.
The Autumn Equinox is a meaningful time of year for harvesting. This can be either a physical harvest of crops, but spiritually speaking a time to acknowledge what you can reap from the seeds sown earlier in the year. A chance to review the goals and intentions you set yourself.
The equinox is also a time to acknowledge abundance in our lives. Everything that we are grateful for and what is provided for use through our earthly experience. Just like the seasons we enjoy, so our lives go through cycles too; growth, harvest, death, and rebirth just like nature.
Take some time this equinox to honour your inner guiding light, the perpetual Universe creative force that has served as ancient knowledge and wellness for millennia. You can do this by walking through crunchy leaves or meditating in nature. You can also just sit quietly and feel the Chi or universal energy that is found in every living thing on the planet.
Happy Autumn Equinox.
Until next time…
